Lessons I Learnt From The Book Titled; THE 5 SECOND RULE

Good morning family.

Welcome to the last day of the month of February!

It was a journey!😃

Today is for Thanksgiving and testimony time!

What has COMFY BOOK CLUB help you achieve this month?

Me: After reading the monthly read for January; Atomic Habit, I became consistent with my personal development but most importantly, I overcame slime based habit like postponing. Moving on to February, it was a tough month because I became intentional about my brands visibility, I had a lot to do that I couldn’t keep up with my reading but I still did it!

To top off the goodies we have received this month, I have listed out few out of the numerous lessons I learnt from “The 5 Second Rule” and trust me when I say you missed a lot where you don’t read books.

Books are treasure holders and I’m a treasure hunter ready to take it all!

8 Lessons From The Book

1. The Rule is a “starting ritual” that activates the prefrontal cortex helping to change a behaviour.

2. Pushing myself to take simple actions create a chain reaction to your confidence and productivity.

3. Pushing myself to take the simple step to move my life forward so as to experience a sense of freedom and power that’s hard to describe.

4. Locus of control – The more I believe that I’m in control of my life, actions and future, the happier and most successful I’ll be. This is an important concept in psychology but Julian Rotter in 1954.

5. Nothing will change if I always wait to be motivated before doing anything. But the moment I assert myself and kick my butt, motivation won’t matter and that’s the power of push.

6. There’s nothing more powerful than the feeling of confidence and pride I gain when I keep moving forward, facing life’s challenges heads on to change for the better.

7. The Rule doesn’t make things easier; it makes them happen

8. Knowing what I need to do to improve my life takes wisdom but pushing myself to do it takes courage.
