Book Summary for DO IT TODAY by DARIUS FOROUX

Chapter 5 – The habit of unproductive people you don’t want to copy

🛑 We are back to this habit thing you say yet you forget that habit is intricately designed into our daily activities.

Chapter 4 to me was a bit intense as it picked a whole chunk out of life and throw it at me. I am not a good catch.

Though, I’ve been able to conclude that in order to understand each chapter, the hard part comes prior to the easy part.

Look at this chapter and chapter 4, they almost collide to disagree but looking closely the author wants us to know that being a productive person doesn’t mean you will be productive all the time and that it is necessary to have a system you rely on.

🛑 We all hate to be unproductive and that’s why we all must learn to eliminate these bad habits that can easily lead to unproductive actions.

🛑 The first habit is WORKING TOO MUCH
At about 5 years before now, I used to think working too hard brings in the now money but no it doesn’t work that way. It never does and you know why?

It is because when you work too hard or too much as we all know we want this money fast fast, now now, you exhaust too much energy and crash suddenly loosing all the work you have done so much.
I have come to believe that health is wealth and in another words it means, if the reason why you are working is to get sufficiency and money, then putting your health into consideration is essential!
How not to work too much;
1. Know yourself
2. Know your work (it could be in Strength measure or in a division of the workload per time)
3. Know your deadline
4. Be patient

🛑 The second habit is WORRYING TOO MUCH
There’s a game called the ‘what if I…’ game which I’ve played a long time ago and even though you don’t want to admit it, you have once played it too!
In the author’s exact word, I say to you my dear; GET OVER YOURSELF. STOP WORRYING AND DO SOMETHING USEFUL.

🛑 BEING STUBBORN (everyone had the slight trait of holding on to their opinion above others. Some to the extreme, some just slightly.)
This is a habit that on it’s plus side, it is god to be stubborn enough not to let critics get to you.
While on the minus side, can turn your relationship with people sour.

You know we all need relationships in career, business and so on.

🛑 CHECKING THINGS
It’s not bad except when you become obsessive of checking your Analytics every 5 minutes or your social media platforms every 2 minutes. When you check for information that are trivia, you might consume information that would cause you anxiety. Just relax, if you don’t check it in the next 2 days, the world will not stop.

🛑 ESCAPING LIFE
I hate to say this but just yesterday I wish to just escape away on vacation to my favorite country doing food tour instead of writing. 😂😂😂 You know what that means?

It means even if I do that, that wouldn’t change the status of the work from not done to done.

Sad enough that we might wish for vacation when we are meant to work but that’s not enough reason to give in. Unless you are the type that takes work along with you on vacation, then go on😂but if not, sit your bottoms down and work!😁

🛑SAYING YES
You don’t have to accept all requests because you don’t want to let people down Mother Theresa well done o.

Think it like this, if everyone that comes to you with requests are accepted, you are living someone else life. It means you are not in control of your time. So, say no to many things and yes to things that matters!

🛑 NOT WRITING THINGS DOWN
Super-brainy human beings! Are you there?
Writing things down helps you give much more space and time for your brain to rest.

I know you’re smart but keep your brain power for other things like critical thinking, problem solving and strategizing.

🛑 BEING HARD ON YOURSELF
why do you have to hate your life so much? Your circumstances shouldn’t taint your view of how beautiful you life can be on a good day.
Don’t you think talking yourself down is a bad habit?
You should be proud of yourself because for one; you got out of bed this morning! Two; you are surviving this thing called life!

🛑 NEGLECTING YOUR PERSONAL EDUCATION.
Congratulations you have graduated and earn a degree but that shouldn’t stop you from learning or using the knowledge from school because your life stop when you stop learning.

I studied psychology and everyday it has helped shaped my way of learning. I don’t know about you but learning doesn’t just have to be what you do in a strict way. Go for professional courses or associate degree or earn a soft skill badge. Just do one thing, DON’T STOP LEARNING!

🛑 HATING RULES
I hate rules just as much as you do. I feel it is constricting but you know life revolves on that right?
It’s just that, the cheat code to it is to know that you can create your own rules.

It doesn’t have to be hard but make them simple like never to complain, never to pay attention to triviality.

Whoops! Did you feel the same way about all that the author has said in this chapter? Tell me below, I accept your reservations with good heart and even the compliments😌❤️
